If you’re like us, you may be suffering from PTSD (post-trump stress disorder). As we look at what is happening it is easy to lose hope. We cannot afford to do that because that’s precisely what they want. We must fight and be strong and be together, more connected with our fellow forward thinkers and feelers than ever. That is how we will prevail.
We are here to help in the small but powerful ways we can. We know these things to be true: 1. We must all be unified in our goals of having a sane, inclusive and egalitarian democracy 2. We must all be together and of one mind 3. We must love no matter what and put hate behind, yet be forceful
We have compiled a list of sources of action plans and learning. This is not an exhaustive list, it is only what we have found to be verified good. Do your own research too and talk to people about this, it helps.
Above all, we must be informed in our fight. This has been an issue with our organization in the past: not caring about the details and hoping that someone else will take care of things. We are changing that, now. Be informed, know the playing field, know the players and tactics. Be clear, this is a new daily routine and by taking control of what we know, we can be a true democracy and we will all benefit from this fact going forward. In a way, all this mess is a blessing in disguise, to shine a bright blinding light in our eyes and motivate us.
If you have an article or news source or video or anything that you feel is motivating and/or helpful, send it to us to include in the list. We hope to keep expanding this as we move forward.
This is the most organized and focused site/plan that we know of. It is brilliant. Thank you guys (and Rachel for championing) for putting this together. Join a local group or start one if there isn’t one. Follow the steps to keep in touch with your representatives. Do the work, for all of us.
These women are amazing and I have to tell you the marches are the most epic display of unity and resolve that I have ever heard of. (We were there on the 21st in D.C. and it was amazing!): follow on FB too , they have ongoing organizing so subscribe! fb: womensmarchonwash
Basically a forum for stories of personal relationship with government, laws and differences. It’s important to share, it brings us closer when we know that we have the same emotions and thoughts!
Washington Post article
A great article pulling together the ways in which we are resisting and documenting some of the big stories along the way
Here are some goods that we designed to aid in the cause. We hope that by having something we wear or use daily to support our emotions is helpful. Let’s keep the hope alive. (portion of proceeds go to the cause of your choice, enter your favorite at checkout)
Send us any ideas for things (t-shirts, scarves, pillows, stickers, coffee mugs, heck – anything helps!) you think will help us remember and organize. Click here to send a note
